Batu Caves is one of the most famous sights in Kuala Lumpur, and it's a highlight of our Kuala Lumpur tour. Here are five tips our buddies share with every guest.
1. Get ready for 272 steps
The colourful staircase up to the Temple Cave has 272 steps. Take your time, stop for photos on the way, and bring water. It's worth it!
2. Dress modestly
Batu Caves is a Hindu temple, so shoulders and knees should be covered. Don't worry if you forget, we bring scarves for our guests.
3. Watch out for the monkeys
The cheeky macaques love snacks and shiny things. Keep food in your bag and hold on to your phone and sunglasses.
4. Go early
Mornings are cooler and less crowded, and the light is perfect for photos of the giant golden statue.
5. Go with a buddy
Your buddy knows the best photo spots and the stories behind the temple, and you don't need to worry about transport or timing.
